If DGM happened today instead of in the 19th Century...

'The break room was alive with the sounds of video violence as Allen and Lavi beat each other's virtual characters to a pulp with frantic button mashing.
"Totally pwning you n00b!" said Lavi mockingly, wiggling the joystick of the control pad wildly causing his large-breasted avatar to drop kick Allen's muscular ninja.
"What the F*%#!" Allen swore, leaning his control pad subconsciously to the side in an attempt to get his character to move away. "Jump bitch! JUMP!!!" he cried at the screen, tapping the blue cross button repeatedly with his thumb. Lenalee cheered both boys on, waiting her turn against the victor, although it was pretty obvious who was going to win this round.
Lavi laughed as his buxom babe delivered the killing strike with a head shot punch. Allen swore loudly as his Ninja hit the dirt and the words 'Fatality' lit up the screen.
Trying to enjoy some peace and quiet but failing to receive it in the presence of his less-than-appealing company, Kanda was curled up trying to read 'The Art of War' by Sun-Tsu, hoping he might be able to find a way to seek revenge on his companions somehow...
"Tch," he tutted in annoyance as Lavi celebrated his victory with a loud and obnoxious whoop...'

I imagined what they might wear in this day and age when not in uniform. Lavi I see as the cool skater-punk type, so I put him in a simple hoodie and jeans combo with a studded eye-patch and Chinese dragon bandana, although he has a childish side hence the socks. Allen retains his somewhat smart casual look with black jeans and simple shirt. I gave him a sweatband just because. Lenalee would spend days off in trousers and I gave her a cute pink skinny-T with some leather-strung necklaces. Her boots are gone. Kanda remains traditional, so he has Tabi-socks and Hakama/Uwagi style clothing.

This took an absolute age to draw and originally was going to have Miranda and Krory as well, but they looked dumb whenever I tried to add them and are considerably older than these four so probably wouldn't spend much time with them in these sorts of activities anyway.
